I really can’t think of another phrase to describe the Wall Street Journal Article that explains away some of our most believable UFO sightings and witnesses. I call it Swamp Gas Journalism. The author cites the All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office or AARO as their main source of information for this article. AARO, long believed to be a propaganda arm of the Pentagon by many in the UFO community, has now come up with very terrestrial explanations for a some of the most credible UFO encounters of the past generation. The article seems to focus on the famous Echo and Oscar flight nuclear missile shut downs at Malmstrom Air Force Base in Montana in 1967- a story of recent interest to Congress.

The nuclear shutdown and UFO sightings have been explained away as part of some deep state disinformation campaign. The shut down of nuclear weapons at Malmstrom was simply described as our own military’s top secret testing of EMP vulnerability using active nuclear missile launch facilities as their test subjects WITHOUT notifying ANYONE at the facility (or specifically Echo and Oscar flights). That suggests that our own military allegedly secretly tested EMP on live nuclear missile sites without notification.

Here’s where they muddy the waters. It’s true that the government was testing the effects of EMP on nuclear facilities. They wanted to see what would happen to our nuclear facilities in the event of an attack, and that’s an extremely valid reason to test EMP and it’s effects, but they tested on non-operational facilities. High levels of EMP could fry the panels and everything inside the capsule including the men. It’s ludicrous to insinuate this kind of testing would have been performed without prior knowledge on a live site.

This is similar to the attempt to discredit David Grusch. They desperately wanted to slander and discredit him, and it felt desperate. It appears they were trying to do the same and rewrite the story that now retired USAF Captain Robert Salas has been telling for 30 years. Basically accusing him of being a liar and purveyor of misinformation himself.

Sketch of a Minuteman I Launch Control Facility (LCF)

Bob was locked in a secure nuclear launch center 60 feet underground at the time. He was not able to visually verify sightings above due to security requirements and had to rely on communications from above. These men were claiming that an unknown craft was hovering above the main gate. If it was a some kind of cover story, it was one of the most dangerous misdirects played in the history of the nuclear age. Stanley Kubrick would be proud.

I am not buying the veracity of this article and I remain more convinced than ever that the powers that be will go to any length to keep disclosure from happening. They will continue to smear, defame, discredit, and fling mud at any credible witnesses that come forward.

If disclosure is going to happen it’s up to us to make it happen.

Until then, we will continue taking your reports and investigating them the best we can. If you’ve seen a UFO or entity CLICK HERE TO REPORT IT TO MUFON. If your event happened in the Southern California area a member of our SoCal MUFON team will reach out to you in person to discuss the details of your encounter.

Bob Salas’ book UAPs and the Nuclear Puzzle: Visitations, National Security, and the Need for Transparency, is is available on Amazon.
